BAL Full Teacher Membership


COST: $100 (1 Style) or $150 (2 Styles or more)

Available to those who have successfully completed BAL Elementary standard in any style, or a similar standard in another recognised syllabus, or have been granted membership by the BAL Board.

Full Teacher Members can:
  • Teach the BAL syllabus in the style for which membership has been approved.
  • Purchase all teaching aids pertaining to the BAL syllabi including notations, CD’s and DVD's.
  • Enter students for BAL examinations.
  • Attend Summer School and workshops.
  • Attend BAL’s annual AGM in November, vote on member issues, participate in Board initiatives and sub-committees.

Full Teacher member benefits include:

  • Regular Newsletters and mail outs.
  • Prompt assistance on syllabus queries from the BAL Technical Committee representatives.
  • BAL Membership Card
  • Receive 5% discount on Teacher professional development non-syllabus workshops conducted by BAL (excluding annual Summer School, Teaching Certificate III, NZ Summer School Workshop)

Full Teacher members are required to:

  • Attend Summer School at least every two (2) years
  • Hold or commence training for either TCIII or TCIV
  • Enter students for BAL examinations at least every two (2) years
 BAL Assistant Teacher Membership


COST: $70

Available to individuals who are teaching the BAL syllabus in a studio where the principal is also a current BAL member, and have successfully completed BAL Elementary standard in any style or a similar standard in another recognised syllabus.

Assistant Teacher Members can:

  • Teach the BAL syllabus in any style for which membership has been approved.
  • Attend Summer School and workshops.
  • Attend BAL’s annual AGM in November and vote on member issues.

Assistant Teacher member benefits include:

  • Regular Newsletters and mailouts.
  • Prompt assistance on syllabus queries from the BAL Technical Committee representatives.
  • BAL Membership Card
  • Receive 5% discount on Teacher professional development non-syllabus workshops conducted by BAL (excluding annual Summer School, Teaching Certificate III, NZ Summer School Workshop)
Assistant Teacher members are advised to hold or commence training for TCIII or TCIV
 
 BAL Student Membership


COST: $30

Available to individuals who are 18 years and under who have successfully completed BAL Elementary standard in any style.

Student Members can:

  • Attend Summer School in January each year and various workshops.

Student Members will:

  • Receive a BAL membership card
  • Receive regular BAL Newsletters
 BAL Associate Membership


COST: $70

Available to individuals who are non-teaching or retired BAL teachers who have an on-going interest in BAL and wish to maintain links with the organisation.

Associate Members will:

  • Receive a BAL membership card
  • Receive regular BAL Newsletters

Associate Members can:

  • Attend Summer Schools and workshops.
  • Attend BAL’s annual AGM in November and vote on member issues.

Higher levels of membership are offered to BAL teachers of long-standing who have displayed loyalty to BAL, consistent excellence in examination results, and a strong commitment to the success of their students. These include Fellowships and Life Memberships.
